About the role
As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of Council’s capital works program across roads, drainage, parks, buildings, playgrounds and public spaces. Working with internal teams, consultants and contractors, you will manage projects from concept and planning through to construction and handover, ensuring delivery on time, within budget and to high quality standards.
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Lead the delivery of a complex portfolio of capital works projects across the full project lifecycle from planning and design through to construction and handover
- Develop project briefs, specifications, cost estimates and tender documentation to support project delivery
- Manage procurement processes, including EOIs, tendering and contractor selection in accordance with Council procurement policies and Local Government regulations
- Oversee contract administration, including the management and performance of contractors and consultants
- Monitor project budgets, schedules and milestones to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to quality standards
- Provide high-level technical advice and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management (or related field) or equivalent industry experience with ongoing professional development
- Class C Driver’s Licence and Construction White Card
- Extensive experience delivering complex, multi-disciplinary capital works projects
- Demonstrated experience managing infrastructure projects within a local government environment
- Strong expertise in contract administration, procurement, tendering and project financial management
- Proven leadership, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills to deliver projects on time, on budget and to quality standards
