About the role
Ku-ring-gai Council is offering an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and driven Undergraduate Development Engineer to join our team.
As part of our commitment to developing the next generation of engineers, this role provides hands-on experience in a wide range of engineering projects that directly impact our community.
Reporting to the Team Leader Development Engineer, your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in the assessment and preparation of recommendations and conditions for development and subdivision applications
- Report on engineering assessment matters related to development and subdivision applications and construction certificates
- Support senior staff with the preparation of technical advice for Land and Environment Court hearings
- Check, approve, and monitor construction of engineering designs associated with development applications and subdivisions
- Assist in preparing advice and guidance on Council’s Development Control Plans
- Provide technical advice for planning enquiries to the public and applicants
Qualifications, skills & experience
- Currently in the penultimate year or at the beginning of the final year of an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering
- Current Class C Driver’s Licence
- Competent in Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Teams)
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work in a diverse team environment
- Ability to work with discretion and complete confidentiality

* Salary for this position is as per the Local Government (State) Award 2023.
* Candidates must be enrolled in and studying the qualification for the duration of the employment term in order to be eligible
