We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Traffic Engineer to join our Traffic and Transport team.
As a Traffic Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in managing and improving the local transport network.
You will work on a variety of projects, from traffic modelling and analysis to designing traffic management solutions that improve safety, mobility, and sustainability across the Council area. You will also engage with the community and other stakeholders to ensure that transportation infrastructure is both effective and accessible.
Reporting to the Team Leader Traffic, your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Conduct traffic studies and analyses to assess the performance and safety of the road network
- Develop and implement traffic management plans, road safety initiatives, and transportation projects
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for Council, stakeholders, and the community
- Collaborate with other departments, external contractors, and consultants on transport projects
- Provide expert advice on traffic engineering issues and respond to community enquiries
- Assist in the development and review of traffic regulations and local planning controls
Required experience & skills:
- A degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- A current NSW driver’s licence
- Working knowledge of AutoCad and MS Office
- Experience in traffic engineering, transport planning, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of traffic management principles, road safety, and transportation systems
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
