About the role
As a Senior Urban Designer, you will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of urban design projects, public domain plans, and place-based initiatives.
Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you will guide the integration of urban design principles into planning policy, development assessment, and infrastructure delivery.
Your duties will include, but are not limited to
- Manage the preparation of urban design plans, policies and strategies
- Assist with the assessment of Planning Proposals and Development Applications
- Provide specialist technical knowledge and advice for inclusion in Council reports
- Prepare master plans and 3D modelling for key sites and precincts
- Assist with review of key Council policy documents including LEP, LSPS, DCP and the Local Housing Strategy
- Participate in community engagement processes
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Degree qualification in architecture or landscape architecture ideally with a post graduate qualification in Urban design
- Eligible for professional accreditation through relevant organisation
- Minimum 10 years post-graduate experience in urban design, architecture or urban planning
- Extensive experience in the management of urban design projects and consultants
- Advanced computer literacy in a broad range of software including CAD, Adobe Suite and Sketchup
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
