About the role
Council is seeking a dedicated and reliable Painter to join our team, helping to maintain Council’s buildings, facilities and community assets to a high standard
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Undertake painting, graffiti removal, signwriting and line marking on Council assets.
- Coordinate and complete painting works across Council facilities and community assets.
- Prepare surfaces, mix and apply paint and coatings using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Construct and dismantle scaffolding as required.
- Order and manage materials required for painting works.
- Provide quotes and maintain accurate records of painting work and associated costs.
- Complete work orders, asset inspections and required documentation accurately and within required timeframes.
- Operate and maintain plant, vehicles and equipment in accordance with relevant procedures and safety requirements.
- Provide professional advice and options to internal and external customers.
- Work collaboratively with other trades and contribute to the day-to-day outputs of the Trades section.
- Ensure Australian Standards, Codes of Practice, WHS requirements and Council procedures are followed.
Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- TAFE Certificate of Trade or equivalent qualification
- Current Class C Driver Licence
- Traffic Control Certificate
- First Aid Certificate
- WHS White Card
- Minimum five years’ relevant painting and trade experience
