About the role
Ku-ring-gai Council is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Environmental Programs Officer to lead innovative urban biodiversity initiatives that connect people with nature and create lasting impact across our community.
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Deliver environmental programs including native bee initiatives, citizen science projects and verge gardening programs
- Design engaging workshops, events and educational resources for diverse audiences
- Build strong partnerships with schools, community groups and stakeholders
- Develop inclusive programs that encourage participation from culturally diverse communities, young people and people with disability
- Provide technical advice on urban biodiversity and environmental stewardship
- Monitor and evaluate program success to drive continuous improvement and measurable outcomes
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Experience delivering environmental engagement or behaviour change programs
- Knowledge of urban ecology and biodiversity, including beekeeping or insect husbandry practices
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and community development skills
- Experience developing inclusive and accessible educational resources
- Excellent organisational, project management and reporting capability
- Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience, along with a Class C Driver’s Licence, First Aid Certificate and Working With Children Check
