About the role
Council is seeking a motivated and experienced Supervisor – Roads & Footpath Maintenance to join our proactive Infrastructure Services team.
This is your chance to oversee a skilled team, manage contractors, and ensure that Council assets meet the highest standards—all while contributing to the safety and enjoyment of the local community.
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Investigate and respond to public service requests, ensuring timely and effective solutions
- Develop, monitor, and implement scheduled and reactive maintenance programs.
- Supervise staff and contractors, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards
- Coordinate work orders, cost estimates, and asset management to ensure projects stay on track and within budget
- Train, develop, and motivate staff while promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and excellence
- Maintain plant, equipment, and vehicles to high standards, ensuring efficient operations across the team
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- TAFE Certificate in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and hands-on experience in road and footpath maintenance
- Proven ability to supervise, motivate, and develop operational teams
- Experience engaging contractors and overseeing civil maintenance works
- Traffic Control Certificates (or willingness to train) and understanding of WHS requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, customised software, and basic surveying, with the ability to provide clear technical advice
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent customer service, and teamwork abilities
