About the role
Council is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Team Leader Venues to lead the delivery of exceptional events and visitor experiences across two of the region’s most loved destinations – the Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden and St Ives Showground.
This is a unique opportunity for a hands-on leader who is passionate about destination management, events, community engagement, environmental education and place-based experiences. You’ll play a key role in shaping how visitors connect with our natural and community spaces while leading a dynamic team and driving continuous improvement.
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Lead and inspire a team delivering high-quality visitor services, events and environmental education
- Oversee the daily operations of visitor services, including staff rostering, customer service and safety
- Develop, deliver and promote engaging visitor experience programs for diverse audiences
- Coordinate events, venue hire and environmental education programs across the precinct
- Drive marketing and promotion of the Wildflower Garden and Showground as regional destinations
- Build positive relationships with community, corporate and destination stakeholders
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in tourism, facility management or a related field, or at least 5 years’ relevant experience
- Experience developing and delivering visitor experience programs
- Proven experience in marketing venues, programs or events
- Strong staff leadership skills, including rostering and team development
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- High-level planning, organisational and problem-solving abilities
- Confidence working independently and collaboratively
- Sound digital skills, including social media, websites and booking systems
- Current Class C Driver Licence
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Working with Children Check (NSW)
