About the role
The Events Coordinator role is responsible for the planning and delivery of a diverse range of community and corporate events across the Ku-ring-gai region. You will manage end-to-end event delivery, build strong partnerships, and drive initiatives that enhance community engagement and visitation. The role also involves overseeing event logistics, budgets, sponsorships, and a small team, ensuring all events are delivered safely, professionally, and to a high standard.
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Plan, coordinate and deliver high-quality community and corporate events
- Develop and manage partnerships with local businesses, organisations, and stakeholders
- Identify and secure corporate sponsorship opportunities
- Oversee event logistics, risk assessments, and compliance requirements
- Manage event budgets and ensure cost-effective delivery
- Lead, supervise and support event staff, contractors, and volunteers (up to 4 direct reports)
- Coordinate marketing, communications, and promotional activities
- Conduct event evaluations and reporting to inform continuous improvement
- Develop, implement and maintain a Council wide events calendar
- Assist in the successful management of events coordinated by other departments and events sponsored or hosted by Council by providing advice and recommendations as required.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Event Management or a related field
- Current Class C Driver’s Licence
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in event management
- Proven experience delivering community and/or corporate events
- Experience in marketing, social media, and public relations
- Demonstrated ability to source and manage sponsorships
- Experience preparing event risk assessments and safety documentation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High level of computer literacy
- Experience managing staff, contractors, and event teams
- Experience in event evaluation and reporting
