Senior Civil Assets Engineer
- Salary $127,037.56 to $147,362.80 p/a + super
- Permanent full time position – 35 hours per week

About the role
Reporting to the Coordinator Engineering Assets, this is a key role within our organisation where you will oversee the management, planning, and improvement of civil infrastructure assets across the local government area.
Duties will include, but are not limited to
- Assist in the preparation, development, and management of Council’s civil assets portfolio (e.g., footpaths, traffic facilities, stormwater drainage, embankments)
- Provide advice and support to design staff to ensure work meets appropriate standards
- Respond promptly to urgent situations and provide specialist advice as needed
- Assess Development Applications under the Roads Act, including provision of consent conditions and site checks
- Manage the street lighting network and maintain accurate Council asset database information
- Develop designs, estimates, and specifications for works projects
Key Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- A degree in Civil Engineering, and a minimum of 10 years post graduate experience in Local Government Engineering or relevant demonstrated experience at an appropriate level
- Extensive experience in civil design, construction, asset management, project management, and contract supervision of civil assets, including street lighting
- Ability to provide sound advice and approval for civil asset requirements (e.g., Roads Act, developer works)
- Experience preparing tender documents, procurement documents, and engineering project specifications
- Experience in budget management and preparing estimates
- Ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with various stakeholders
