Team Leader Development & Landscape Assessments
- Salary $127,037.56 to $147,362.80 p/a + super
- Permanent full time position – 35 hours per week

We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Team Leader – Development & Landscape Assessments to lead a high-performing team overseeing the assessment of landscape, tree and ecological components of development applications.
Reporting to the Manager Development Assessment Services, your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of landscape and environmental professionals
- Oversee assessment and reporting of landscape, tree and ecological impacts of development applications
- Ensure reports are thorough, compliant, and defensible in legal proceedings
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including Councillors, developers and the community
- Monitor compliance and enforcement of conditions related to landscape and environmental matters
- Provide strategic guidance and policy input to support environmentally responsible development
- Deliver on timeframes and performance targets for all referral and assessment work
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Landscape Architecture or equivalent
- Current Class C Driver’s Licence
- At least 5 years in landscape development assessment
- Demonstrated experience in supervising teams and managing consultants
- Working knowledge of development control, environmental and open space conservation issues
- Expert understanding of planning legislation, development control processes and environmental impact assessment
- Strong knowledge of landscape and arboricultural principles, tree management and ecological assessment
- High-level written and verbal communication skills
- Skilled in conflict resolution and decision-making under pressure
- Ability to prepare high-quality reports and court-defensible recommendations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and local government planning systems
