Plant Operator – Road Services

• Salary $70,158.40 to $81,383.12 p/a + super
• 38 hours per week/9 day fortnight

About the role

As a Plant Operator in our Road Services team, you’ll play a hands-on role in the construction, maintenance and repair of roads, drainage and associated infrastructure.

You will operate a range of plant and equipment including trucks, rollers, excavators and loaders, and work collaboratively with a dedicated team focused on safety, quality, and community service.

Reporting to the Supervisor Roads & Footpath Maintenance, your duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Operate heavy plant and equipment for road maintenance and construction activities
• Carry out labouring duties as required to support road works and drainage projects
• Ensure plant and equipment are used and maintained in a safe and efficient manner
• Contribute to a positive team culture and uphold Council’s commitment to workplace safety and service excellence

Qualifications, skills & experience:

• WorkCover licence and/or accreditation to operate heavy plant (backhoes, excavators, compaction rollers, skid steer loader)
• Current MR Driver’s Licence (minimum)
• Traffic Controller (RMS Blue Card)
• Apply Traffic Control Plans (RMS Yellow Card)
• WHS Construction Induction Certificate (White Card)
• Demonstrated experience operating heavy plant and equipment
• Proven experience in asphalt, concrete, and general road construction and maintenance
• Experience in drainage maintenance and construction
