Plant Operator – Road Services
- Salary $70,158.40 to $81,383.12 p/a + super
- 38 hours per week/9 day fortnight

About the role
As a Plant Operator in our Road Services team, you’ll play a hands-on role in the construction, maintenance and repair of roads, drainage and associated infrastructure.
You will operate a range of plant and equipment including trucks, rollers, excavators and loaders, and work collaboratively with a dedicated team focused on safety, quality, and community service.
Reporting to the Supervisor Roads & Footpath Maintenance, your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Operate heavy plant and equipment for road maintenance and construction activities
- Carry out labouring duties as required to support road works and drainage projects
- Ensure plant and equipment are used and maintained in a safe and efficient manner
- Contribute to a positive team culture and uphold Council’s commitment to workplace safety and service excellence
Qualifications, skills & experience:
- WorkCover licence and/or accreditation to operate heavy plant (backhoes, excavators, compaction rollers, skid steer loader)
- Current MR Driver’s Licence (minimum)
- Traffic Controller (RMS Blue Card)
- Apply Traffic Control Plans (RMS Yellow Card)
- WHS Construction Induction Certificate (White Card)
- Demonstrated experience operating heavy plant and equipment
- Proven experience in asphalt, concrete, and general road construction and maintenance
- Experience in drainage maintenance and construction
