Reporting to the Director Corporate, this is a pivotal leadership role responsible for the delivery of all financial and accounting services across Council. As Manager Corporate Finance, you will lead a high-performing team and provide strategic financial leadership to ensure the organisation maintains strong financial governance, sustainability and compliance. You will play a key role in developing and implementing robust financial systems, controls and reporting frameworks that support informed decision-making and organisational performance.
You will oversee Council's annual budget process, long-term financial planning and statutory reporting obligations, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and accounting standards. The role also includes responsibility for investment management, revenue functions, financial asset management and the ongoing improvement of financial policies, systems and procedures. Working closely with senior leaders, Councillors and external stakeholders, you will provide expert financial advice to support strategic and operational outcomes.
To be considered, you will hold relevant tertiary qualifications along with CPA or Chartered Accountant accreditation. You will bring demonstrated experience delivering financial services within a complex organisation, ideally in Local Government, including financial reporting, budgeting and long-term financial planning. You will also have proven leadership capability, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to influence and build relationships across all levels of an organisation.
