About the role
Working within Council’s Environment & Sustainability team, this hands-on, rewarding role will see you help restore and protect local environments while engaging and inspiring community volunteers. You will be out in the field delivering bush regeneration and environmental programs, supporting initiatives such as the Native Bee Program and playing a key role in community events—while also using your skills to coordinate projects, maintain essential records and ensure safe, sustainable work practices.
Duties
- Provide on-site supervision, training and WH&S guidance for environmental volunteers
- Complete site reports, risk assessments, mapping, herbicide records, incident reports and volunteer feedback documentation
- Assist with the implementation of environmental initiatives, including the Native Bee Program and community events.
- Respond professionally to enquiries, requests and complaints in a timely, fair and courteous manner
- Comply with relevant legislation, Council policies and procedures
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Certificate III in Conservation and Land Management (or equivalent experience)
- First Aid, Class C Driver’s Licence and AQF-3 Chemical Accreditation.
- Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
- At least 2 years’ hands-on experience in bush regeneration, rehabilitation or related work
- Proven experience working with community groups and collaborating effectively in diverse teams
- Demonstrated project management capability with excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills
- High-level reporting skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
